»Salons always used to be a place for amazement and inspiration as well as for demonstrating diversity and novelties. However, salons also used to be a place where free spirits would gather to exchange thoughts and views with their peers in an art-inspired atmosphere.

Following this tradition, for the next months, the gallery will be transformed into a salon exhibiting more than 80 works of art by 16 artists, presented in a lush salon-style hang. The artistic hallmarks, subjects and techniques will be as variegated as they have to be in a salon setting, with a major focus on drawings and printed graphics. What is more, a finely tuned series of accompanying events will be staged over the coming months, filling the salon concept with life. »Salon #1« starts off a new exhibition format that will be continued in the future.« (Christine Knauber)
